Our Eastern Canadian Moose season has 2 weeks of Archery in late September and 2 weeks of Rifle in mid-October. The primary rut occurs in Archery Season with some post rut activity in Rifle Season. All our archery hunts are fully guided spot and stalk hunts with average shots being 40-50 yards. Calling is usually very effective at this time.
We only hunt Bulls no matter what Quebec Regulations are. We see no sense in killing cows that reproduce our herd or calves that could be great bulls someday! The average bull is 30″-40″ but 40″-55″ bulls are killed in our area every year. We continue to have 50-60% shot opportunity year after year. Rifle hunts are out of elevated blinds over looking marshes where they come into feed or are checking for cows. The average shot is 100-200 yards. Guides will take you to your stand and help with game retrieval.
We run our Moose camp in Northwest Quebec 20 miles south of Lebel Sur Quevillion and you can drive your vehicle right into camp. The closest airport is Val-D’or (1:20) you can rent vehicles there if need be.
Meals, guide, and lodging are included. This is a 2 on 1 guided hunt. Grouse hunting can also be done during down time at no additional cost. Licenses are not included, but available at the lodge ($350-Moose, $75-Fishing, and $85-Grouse).
